Email agenda from Marti Burgess Chair

Ahead of the meeting this week, I can confirm that the format for this meeting will be slightly different.  I have met with all of the sub-group chairs (save for Tom Paine) and all of the vice-chairs and hopefully everyone has an idea of the main focus of the group they are chairing.  This week’s meeting will be split into two halves.

The first half will be chance for the chairs and/or the vice-chairs to meet with the rest of their sub-group and discuss the objectives of the sub-groups and plan their next meeting and come up with their priorities.

I attach all of the details of the sub-groups and who sits on which group.  I shall leave it to the respective chairs to circulate an agenda and any papers they want to share with their sub group.

The second half of the meeting will be the main panel meeting which will be an opportunity for the feedback from the sub-groups to be shared with the wider group.

The standing item agenda’s for each main panel meeting will be as follows:

  1. a) Safety and Access
  2. b) Promoting Bristol’s Nightlife
  3. c) Venues, Plan Making and Licensing
  4. d) Employment and Skills
  5. e) Action log
  6. f) AOB

If anyone else has anything to add for this week’s meeting please let me know and I will update the agenda.

We have all previously discussed that our meeting are governed by Chatham House rules.  These can be found here.  I would also like to bring everyone’s attention to the Nolan Principles which can be found here.

As the chair of the panel and the owner of Lakota which as you may already know is going through a planning application I have identified that I could be seen to have a conflict of interest particularly if I become involved in the Venues, Plan Making and Licensing Group.  I will not attend this group’s meetings as a result.  I will sit on the Safety and Access group and the Employment  and Skills group.

The date of the meeting after this one will be the 3rd of July.

Unfortunately, I am not here this week so the meeting will be chaired by Craig Cheney.

If anyone has any queries or comments then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Regards

Marti
